How is my personal information collected and used?

Registration

In order to use certain features of this web site, you must first complete the registration form. During registration you are required to give contact information, such as your name and e-mail address. We use this information to contact you about services on our site for which you have expressed interest.

Order

We request information from you on our order form. You must provide contact information and financial information, such as a credit card account number. This information is used for billing purposes and to fill customers' orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you.

Information Use

Tom Sawyer Software will use your personal information to help validate credit card use. From time to time, we may also use the information in order to send you e-mails containing items that may be of interest to you. Tom Sawyer Software will not sell, share, or release any information gathered on our web site to any third parties.

Tom Sawyer Software stores information that we collect through cookies to create a profile of our users. Third Party Intermediaries

We use a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store, or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

Choice/Opt-out

Our users are given the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for information. For example, our Personal Profile form has an ‘opt-out’ mechanism so users who buy a product from us, but don’t want any marketing material, can keep their e-mail addresses off our lists.

Security

This web site takes every precaution to protect its users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the web site, their information is protected both online and offline.

All of our users’ information—not just the sensitive information mentioned above—is restricted in our offices.
