Enhanced Data Access, Designer Analysis Integration, and Enterprise Security with Support for Neo4j 3.5, Amazon Neptune, and AWS IAM

Tom Sawyer Perspectives 8.3.2 Second Beta for .NET includes Schema Extraction, Save to Graph Databases, and Connector Customization

Berkeley, CA, August 21, 2019—Tom Sawyer Software, the global leader in graph and data visualization and analysis technology, announces the release of Tom Sawyer Perspectives, .NET Edition, Release 8.3.2, Second Beta.

Tom Sawyer Perspectives, .NET Edition, Release 8.3.2, Second Beta includes many innovations that have been added into the Tom Sawyer Perspectives product line since Tom Sawyer Perspectives, .NET Edition, Release 7.6.0.

This release expands our data integration capabilities through support for Amazon Neptune, Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB, and Stardog.

In addition, this release includes schema extraction for Amazon Neptune, Neo4j, Apache TinkerPop, Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB, OrientDB, SQL, RDF, and structured text files, including CSV data sources. Also, query-based commit allows for saving data back to Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, and Apache TinkerPop, Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB, and OrientDB graph databases.

The Tom Sawyer Perspectives Designer has been extended with support for graph analysis algorithms integration without the need for writing custom code. Designer users can now define configuration options for the analysis algorithms and see real-time results in a drawing view.

Also, this release brings significant performance improvement for rendering in web applications and across all of the layout styles.

Data Access and Security Enhancements for Enterprise Customers

AWS IAM, Amazon Neptune RDF, and Neo4j 3.5 Support, Save to Amazon Neptune, Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB, OrientDB, Apache TinkerPop, and Enhanced Connectors Available in Tom Sawyer Perspectives 8.3.2 First Beta

To support customers who use Amazon Neptune for data storage, this release features AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM). Now customers can use AWS IAM to authenticate their instance or cluster when using Tom Sawyer Perspectives. Neptune users can now connect with and query Neptune databases as a SPARQL Endpoint with RDF.

“We are focused on helping enterprise customers solve complex problems with enhanced data access and more sophisticated and rapid customization of diagrams,” said Brendan Madden, Chief Executive Officer of Tom Sawyer Software. “Our customers are excited about the enhanced node growth model, connector constraints, and connector label rotation that enables greater customization in this release.”

RDF Schema Extraction and Save to Amazon Neptune and Apache TinkerPop

Schema Extraction for RDF and Save to Amazon Neptune, Apache TinkerPop, Cosmos DB, and OrientDB, Available in Tom Sawyer Perspectives 8.3.2 First Beta

Customers are excited to see support for AWS IAM, Amazon Neptune RDF, and Neo4j 3.5. This release adds schema extraction for Neptune, Neo4j, Apache TinkerPop, SQL, and RDF. In addition, developers can create Neptune, Neo4j, and TinkerPop applications with the ability to design, author, and edit the graph database.

Our exciting new connector enhancement adds support for a node growth model by handling inside connector labels. The node will grow as needed to comfortably fit the interior contents of the node. Customers can customize their drawings by specifying the connector labels they want to rotate, and they can control the placement and order of connectors for specific layout results.
