Berkeley, CA, November 7, 2013 - Tom Sawyer Software, the premier provider of software for building high-performance data visualization and social network analysis applications, announces the release of Tom Sawyer Perspectives, Version 5.2, Java Edition. This release introduces new features to improve application response time and includes many improvements in web views and the Perspectives Designer for better overall functionality.
With this release, Tom Sawyer Perspectives introduces new support for incremental loading of table rows in web applications. We have worked with a number of our larger customers in several industries to implement this high-speed page-based table model. For very large sets of table data, the table view will only retrieve as much information as can be seen on the page, as opposed to loading all available table data. This enables reduced traffic between the browser and server, and reduced memory usage, to greatly improve application response time and scalability.
This release also adds new support for running analysis on nested drawings. In addition, hierarchical layout has improved orthogonal edge routing to align horizontal and vertical edge segments properly, and orthogonal layout delivers improved incremental layout results. There have also been many improvements in the Perspectives Designer, and in the web tree, web table, and web inspector views for improved overall functionality.
Tom Sawyer Perspectives, Version 5.2 also includes expanded documentation with additional tutorials for customization and programming. Support for the latest operating systems, application servers, and browsers have also been added.
