Berkeley, CA, February 25, 2016—Tom Sawyer Software, the premier provider of software for building high-performance graph and data visualization and analysis applications, announces the release of Tom Sawyer Perspectives, Version 7.2, .NET Edition.
This release introduces play and pause media controls to the timeline view so that users can observe how data evolves over time. The user can play and pause animation in the timeline view, as well as choose to play the animation from the left side, right side, or both sides at the same time. This new feature allows users to visualize the patterns and trends within a spread of an epidemic, the progression of crime in a city, or uncover how information disseminates across an organization's departments.
Our charting package includes more than a dozen chart types, including new additions such as stacked area, percentage area, stacked column, percentage column, stacked bar, and percentage bar. Examples featuring these new chart types have been added. Our Climate Change example demonstrates how different factors contribute to global warming, and our Organizational Management example showcases information relating to offices and individuals in a company hierarchy. In addition, our Microwave Network example has been updated.

Tom Sawyer Perspectives provides users with smoother transitions after global layout, incremental layout, and complexity management operations. Tom Sawyer Perspectives now zooms and pans smoothly from an initial configuration of the drawing to a final configuration of the drawing, greatly improving the ease of usage.
This release also introduces a new one-line diagram layout that is designed to scale to hundreds of thousands of nodes and supports geospatial hinting, nesting, constraints, and incremental layout.

The Tom Sawyer Perspectives core system has been optimized for performance. The system is up to 30% faster for multi-core and hyper-threaded server configurations. Model population, rule execution and expression evaluation, view loading, layout, and rendering are all significantly faster, and particularly so with large data sets. Further, this release improves product quality and features, and introduces new example applications.
Tom Sawyer Software is the leading provider of software and services that enable organizations to build highly scalable and flexible graph and data visualization and analysis applications. These applications are used to discover hidden patterns, complex relationships, and key trends in large and diverse datasets. Tom Sawyer Software serves clients with needs in link analysis; network topology; architectures and models; schematics and maps; and dependencies, flows, and processes. We help clients federate and integrate their data from multiple sources and build the graph and data visualization applications that are critical to analyzing and gaining insight into their data.View All Press Releases
