What is personal data?

Personal Data is information that relates to an identified or identifiable natural person. To be more specific, a person falls in the “identified” category if a party can use information relating to the person to determine his or her specific identity. This information can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person or to identify an individual in context (“Personal Data”).
