Join us January 28, 2026 at 9 a.m. PST for this live webinar
Join us for this insightful webinar with special guest Johannes Gross, CEO of Planetary Utilities, for an exploration of how SysML v2 is reshaping the future of space system engineering. Johannes will discuss SysML v2 as a platform technology and introduce Starkit, a modular space system architecture designed to accelerate and unify space mission development. He will also demonstrate how AI-integrated workflows are transforming interdisciplinary model-based engineering, enabling teams to conceive, design, and validate complex missions with unprecedented speed and cohesion.
The webinar will also showcase new capabilities released in Tom Sawyer SysML v2 Viewer 1.3, including extended graphical syntax support, new sequence diagram visualization, on-demand edge-crossing visualization controls, and improved rendering responsiveness. Attendees will see how these enhancements enable clearer understanding of complex models and support the forward-looking engineering approaches highlighted throughout the session.

Johannes Gross, CEO of Planetary Utilities, explores how SysML v2 is reshaping the future of space system engineering in this live webinar.
During this live webinar, attendees will learn about:
SysML v2 as a platform technology
A modular space system named Starkit
An AI integrated workflow for designing space missions
Interdisciplinary model-based engineering
The death of systems engineering
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with our host during the interactive Q&A session. Have your questions answered in real-time and gain deeper insights.

Johannes received his PhD in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) recruited him straight out of school where he worked for over seven years. While at JPL he contributed to developing the PIXL instrument that operates on the surface of Mars. He also built an optical spectrometer instrument for the ISS that images Earth daily.
Towards the end of his tenure at JPL, his thinking shifted. He felt grateful for his invaluable experience and the connections he forged at JPL, though he also felt somewhat constrained by the limitations of the status quo. Branching out on his own has allowed Johannes to innovate and create under the governance of physics and nothing else. He founded Planetary Utilities in 2023 teaming up with CTO Robert Karban shortly after.
