Antonis Tzougkarakis joined Tom Sawyer Software as a Full Stack Developer in 2019 following an earlier internship with the company in 2017. In his current role, he is responsible for the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s web infrastructure. As the sole developer in this domain, he leads initiatives across website enhancements, server maintenance, and system reliability.
His work includes managing website updates, resolving technical issues, and overseeing infrastructure upgrades, as well as leading the migration of legacy systems from MySQL databases to HubSpot. He specializes in website development, AWS environment maintenance, server and operating system upgrades, migration to modern PHP versions, and implementing security improvements. Through his work, he ensures the company’s web platforms remain stable, secure, and aligned with evolving technical standards.
Antonis began his professional career in software development in 2019, building on earlier technical experience across both research and operational environments. In 2015, he contributed to GNU Radio development at Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) within the Telecommunications Laboratory of the Institute of Computer Science. In 2016, he supported server and website maintenance, along with internal process operations, during his service at a Greek military office.
At Tom Sawyer Software, he has contributed to several impactful initiatives, including the development of a streamlined download flow system designed to simplify product access and license setup for customers. He has also led operating system upgrades and implemented security improvements across the company’s web servers, enhancing reliability and performance.
Antonis holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Crete.
His professional interests include website development, system reliability, and quality assurance, with a strong focus on problem solving and maintaining high standards in production environments. He is also actively exploring modern web technologies such as React and Next.js, with the goal of integrating them into future development workflows. Additionally, he has a growing interest in artificial intelligence, particularly in leveraging AI-driven solutions to enhance technical documentation and user support systems.
