Arturs Verza is a Senior Product Development Engineer at Tom Sawyer Software, focusing on the model and data integration areas of Tom Sawyer Perspectives. His work includes developing integrators for technologies such as RDF and graph databases, as well as features such as the query builder, view layout, and search.
Arturs joined Tom Sawyer Software in 2007 as a Software Engineer in the graph layout group, working on the company’s automatic graph layout algorithms. Since 2010, his primary focus has been on extending the capabilities of Tom Sawyer Perspectives, particularly in the integrator, model, and schema areas.
Arturs has a strong interest in graph databases, graph algorithms, and algorithm design more broadly. He has attended international conferences, such as the International Symposium on Graph Drawing in 2013 and 2014, reflecting his ongoing interest in graph visualization and its underlying algorithms.
Arturs holds a Master of Computer Science degree with distinction from the University of Latvia. His Bachelor’s thesis focused on hierarchical layout with group constraints, and his Master’s thesis explored polyline graph edge routing.
Representing Latvia, Arturs earned a silver medal and a bronze medal at the International Olympiad in Informatics, as well as three bronze medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad.
