Role at Tom Sawyer Software

Janet Six rejoined Tom Sawyer Software in 2017 as the Product Manager. In her current position, she works with business, technical, and design teams to craft product strategy and also to create effective data visualization and analysis solutions within technical, time, and financial constraints. Given her nearly 30 years of experience in the graph visualization and analysis field, she is able to quickly discern the complex needs of enterprises, create robust solutions that produce key results with actionable insights, and communicate these findings efficiently. In her work, she is a constant advocate for meaningful innovation while supporting business needs. Janet’s previous work with Tom Sawyer Software includes helping to create its incremental orthogonal visualization technology.

Working Background

Janet’s graph visualization work has appeared in the Journal of Discrete Algorithms, Journal of Graph Algorithms and Applications, the Kluwer International Series in Engineering and Computer Science, and the proceedings of conferences on Graph Drawing, IEEE Symposium on Information Visualization, and Algorithm Engineering and Experiments. She has also spoken at INCOSE International Symposium, Data Day Texas, IEEE International Symposium on Consumer Electronics, and Big Design Conference.

Education

Janet holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Dallas where she received the Computer Science Dissertation of the Year Award. She was also awarded an Honorable Mention in the National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship competition and is the recipient of the Dallas Section of the IEEE Outstanding Young Engineer Award.

Her interests include graph visualization, graph analysis, and artificial intelligence.
